In 2011, the municipality conducted a transit feasibility study with residents in order to determine whether there was a need for transit service in Essa. As a result of this study, Council and Staff are now working diligently towards the development of such a transit system for Essa residents to enjoy.
Please stay tuned for more information.

Simcoe County Food and Agriculture Charter - VISIONING DAY - February 21, 2012
|
Do you care about the future of our food? Do you care about farmland and farmers? Do you care about the impact of poor food choices on our health? Food related issues like hunger? If so, we want to hear from you!
The County of Simcoe is working closely with a growing list of community partners in creating a Simcoe County Food and Agriculture Charter and is hosting a visioning day on February 21st to find out what matters most to you when it comes to food and the local food system. The visioning day will be held at Lakehead University in Orillia from 8:30 to 4:00 p.m. The registration fee is $25.00 which includes locally sourced lunch and refreshments. Please note space is limited. View the Agenda for the day and Registration Form. For further information you can also view a brief video at the following link http://youtu.be/WbSlnatkSA0.
To learn more about this important initiative please visit the website at http://fpa.simcoe.ca and take time to fill out the survey. The information from the surveys and the visioning day will help lay the foundation for the first draft of the Simcoe County Food and Agriculture Charter.
| Winter Road and Sidewalk Safety |
Winter is one of the most exciting seasons of the year - but it can also be the most dangerous. Please take precautions to ensure that children are playing at a safe distance from the roads and sidewalks, as Snowplow Operators cannot see children hidden in snow banks.
Parking is prohibited on all Township roads between 2:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. from November 1st to May 1st every year. This allows for the accommodation of snow removal operations. Offending vehicles will be ticketed and/or towed at the owner's expense.
